Our Rules

Our school rules are taken from the teachings of Christ. The wording of our rules was taken from the Bible. Each of our school rules is broken down into a series of behaviours that we expect all adults and children to demonstrate.

  1. ​Treat others as you want to be treated 
  2. Try your best in everything that you do 
  3. Be engaged in your learning
  4. Forgive and forget 

Rule 1: Treat others as you want to be treated 

What the Bible says: Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person. 1 Corinthians 10:24

By following this rule, adults will:

  • Treat every pupil as if they were their own son or daughter.

By following this rule, children will:

  • Always use their manners

  • Smile at each other

  • Praise each other

  • Use kind words

  • Be gentle and caring

  • Help others to improve

Rule 2: Try your best in everything that you do. 

What the Bible says: ​Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4-5

By following this rule, adults will:

  • Never give up on a child

  • Listen to children

  • Support each and every child

  • Stay calm and never lose their temper

  • Never shout at a child

By following this rule, children will:

  • Stay focused during lessons

  • Always follow instructions

  • Put their hands up to ask or answer a question

  • Try their best to finish their work

  • Stay on-task

Rule 3: Be engaged in your learning 

What the Bible says: Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more. Matthew 25:20

By following this rule, adults will:

  • Be fully prepared for every lesson 

  • Actively engage in continuous professional development 
  • Seek out advice and opportunities for professional growth 

By following this rule, children will:

  • Be fully focused in every lesson 

  • Follow classroom routines
  • Complete all learning activities 
  • Take pride in their work 
  • Ensure that their presentation is to the very best possible standard 

Rule 4: Forgive and forget 

What the Bible says: Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

By following this rule, adults will:

  • Treat every day as a fresh start

  • Clean all strike charts before the start of a new day

  • Not bring up the past when addressing a current issue

  • Understand that children will make mistakes

By following this rule, children will:

  • Apologise if they make a mistake

  • Be honest if they make a mistake

  • Allow others to share their side of the story

  • Shake hands

  • Move on from the past

  • Not hold a grudge and accept an apology
